If we read the headlines and listen to social media, politicians, “influencers”, religious leaders and those who scream the loudest (or act the most outrageous), you would think the world is like a wrecked ship. It is on its way to crashing on the shore or sinking to the bottom. The world, though, is not wrecked. Imagine it as a sailboat going back and forth (tacking) as it moves forward. It looks sometimes as if would bite the dust as it leans into a wave. Just like that boat, we continue to move forward, screaming and yelling. We are learning how to steer and gradually, we will, in due time, come into more harmony.
I have had many emails and conversations regarding the anxiety, depression, fear and hopelessness of these times. We have inflation, shortages, loss of financial portfolios, war in Ukraine, extremists view of governing and factions wanting to return to an all white world (what is that?), a return to a patriarchal society and a fear of missing out. How could we be making progress?
It is our steering of the boat that is off. The boat is still moving forward. Humanity is still advancing out of the age of ignorance and darkness. The boat continues on to completion. You and all that you are concerned with are moving toward completeness. Moreover, it is your thought-form that is mostly shaped according to your viewpoint of the cosmos. If you see the world as lost and ruined, you will see yourself as part of it. If your outlook for the world as a whole is hopeless, your outlook for yourself cannot be hopeful. Your place in life, including your material environment, is determined by the thought-form you habitually hold of yourself.
It is easy to confuse the shootings, corruption of our leaders and the injustices of our society with the world’s plan. We have always been too attached to man-made items and we think that we can control the whole place. If nothing else, the pandemic should have shown you otherwise. You can guide, but you can’t control. For example, right now it appears that abortion rights are to be taken away in many parts of the country. Once/if this ruling goes into effect, it will create all kinds of chaos across 50 states. This chaos will result in some pretty extreme court battles, imprisonment, crazy behavior and finally a surrender. Abortions won’t go away just the same as prohibition went underground and flourished for years until finally it went away. The religious warfare among Christians striving for more power will also fade. The country is becoming more secular, more brown and black, more progressive. There is nothing that can stop an idea whose time has come. We can try but we aren’t in control.
Your viewpoint tells you what the right attitude is and obedience to the soul puts you into it. It is only by making a complete consecration of yourself to the highest that is within you that you can attain to sincere thinking. It is easy to think of going outside of yourself to meet God, but it is not so easy to think of going inside yourself to meet God. All you need is already within you. You do not have to consider how to get the power to do what you want to do or to make yourself what you want to be.
You don’t have to have a pastor, a priest, a rabbi, a mullah, a Zen master (or mistress) to help you be in touch with the Divine. You already are. You would put many religions out of business once this is grasped. The challenge here on earth is to not become so attached to it. We are just tourists here. We can use this world of earth but we cannot rely upon it. Man-made laws, rules, fears change over time. We are in this world but we are not of it. The only comfort here is through connection to the Eternal, Sacred and Divine using the breath. Remember we are loved, supported and connected to it through the breath.
We feel disconnected because we perpetuate our differences and have great fear of losing out. We don’t understand we are all part of the whole and we make ourselves and others miserable by this behavior. The earth was here long before these inhabitants and it will be here long after.

Gail, I have been catching up with reading your BLOG’s. I I sent this article on to a lady friend, whom we had a very similar luncheon discussion today… I wrote her>>>we are blessed to have much of this thinking… spirituality, looking WITHIN… living with love for others, and looking for the best in all man kind…plus, much more.
And yes, sometimes, we’ve felt not-good enuff, lacked little confidence, had fears… BUT… and you know what… we as women stepped up and out to create our purpose in this world…bravely, step by step, and successfully…etc.

This is so beautifully said and I agree with every single word of it. Thanks for your insights and how you articulate so well. People need to believe that there is another way to look at what is happening even if it is not what we are hoping for at this very time. We need more faith in our abilities and to focus on what we desire than what someone else is telling us to believe. Otherwise, we are just victims with no power. Not so!
