revisit what you were experiencing at that time and see how closely current day resembles the same issues. The issues may appear new but if you look closely you will see that they have the same recurring themes you dealt with–or didn’t–back in 86, 87 and 88. Today these issues resurface and you will be looking at your “life’s” work and the issues that undermine it. You will be forced to deal with the details and to go back and finish what you started.
Irresponsible behavior and excessiveness will not be tolerated. We are in a recurring transit that provides us with growth opportunities. This period 2015-2018 will weed out what isn’t working for you and help you to release lost causes. You will learn over the next 3 years how expensive is the loss of time, energy, money and contentment. We all will learn that there is a freedom in abiding by certain rules and in the discipline of self-denial. We will also learn to be very aware of how we verbalize our ideas and opinions. Blurting out from a false sense of bravado will not work. Righteousness will not fly. Overconfidence, overdoing expectations and a feeling of entitlement will not work. This is a time for us to all learn new skills in how we deliver information and knowledge. Note, they are not the same. I would anticipate more rules on how the internet is used to publish and pronounce information.
False gurus and so-called “experts” will be exposed during this time period. The word is out, discipline and structure in presentations, value and concrete benefits will be essential. As you revisit 1986-88, look at all areas of your life during that time frame. Particularly pay attention to your relationship issues, your money issues, your career issues and your health issues. Look at the themes that played through those years. Look at today’s issues. What areas need work? What ones did you not deal with almost 30 years ago. History does repeat itself! We’ll be back in 30 years revisiting today’s issues. The cycles continue.

This is fantastic! Gail, you never cease to amaze me with how “right-on” you always are. I am about to start a business just like I did back in 1986 that I have every confidence will be as successful as the 1986 company was. Only this time, I won’t make the mistakes I made then because this article was a reminder of those years. I was almost 30 years younger and those were the years that I learned the most about myself and boy how I grew. They were the most difficult years of my life but what I learned will serve me well this time around. I have done everything you instructed me to do before starting this business and I see clear sailing ahead. Thank you so much Gail for your insightful wisdom, as always.
