The No. 1 month of the year—October

October is a “signpost” month. It is considered a “one” month (1 + 0) but it is not so much a new beginning month as it is a month of advance notice of what is ahead for you in the coming year. Your plans cannot get fully implemented until next year but you can now see some of what you want to begin in the New Year. Pay attention to your hunches, dreams and plans. The month of September was the wind down month for 2010 and October becomes the peek into the future year. Remember when next year comes around start your plans early in the year and work hard through the year until next October. The rest month can be July but the remainder of the year should be productive. Years end in December but they begin the close up in September. It is best to initiate and carry through with your plans during the early part of a year.

Looking at a “one” month is like looking into a mirror. We see ourselves beginning and ending and it is another opportunity to prepare for a new start, fresh beginning. October is a time of encouragement and hope and promise. Plan now for next year but continue to finish up what you began in January.

2) Question of the Month

How important is a location?

Answer:

The old adage of being at the airport when your ship comes in has much truth and wisdom. You do want to locate yourself where you will prosper and be content. So many of us just take off to a new location thinking “it” will have the answer only to find out it was never a geographical problem. Others take off thinking I will do better in warmer weather, sunnier weather only to find out that your business dies on the vine and you wither with it.

The proper location is crucial to your good and your personal development. Whenever you are going to consider a new place to live, check to see how the location fits with your own personal blueprint. Each town, country and state has its own blueprint. You will be best served by going to a location that celebrates your gifts, wants your talent and energetically supports you. Many people move because of a love relationship situation only to find out they can’t stand the new place. Promise yourself that you will invest time and energy into checking out the blueprint of a location to see if this potential location suits your own personal life plan.

3) View from the Freeway

September was a bear of a month. We had Mercury Retrograde situation, harsh astrological transits and it was a “9^th” month to boot. There were endings all over the place. I hear from many exhausted and worried clients. I did tell you in a prior email that July, August and September were brutal months. October should feel lighter and less heavy. There is something refreshing about October. It is a “one” month so the energy has shifted a great deal.

Remember I have mentioned that old structures in all our institutions—religious, financial, governmental and social are being fractured. We are just beginning the process of modifying our society so be patient with the times and see this as an opportunity to get involved in remaking of this country and the global community. Society is trying to rely on the old structures for support but it is becoming unraveled. We have at least 14 more years of this transit so I encourage you to get involved even if you have never considered it your civic duty.

Power between the corporate world and the government will become more entrenched. It has been growing for the past sixty years and during the last thirty years the two became one. Government became very dysfunctional during this period. It became wasteful, bloated and hosted numerous special-interest projects. Laws have been written but not enforced, social services have been marginalized, government pension programs and artificial retirement ages of 50 and 55 have made a mockery of the taxpayers who pay for the goods and services. Government unions began to control the elected officials and government officials increased the lining of their own pockets. The situation became so extreme that California had to launch the first glaring example—the City of Bell.

“They” say that California starts the trends and here it comes with the first big signal of Bell, CA where it made world-wide news of the City officials using the taxpayers as their personal piggy banks. Now, word is out and more and more examples will come to light. Certainly, Los Angeles (the city of Angels) has the highest salaried city council members in the country. It doesn’t stop there. A captured serial killer is still receiving workman’s compensation for developing a shoulder injury when he was a trash man for the City of Los Angeles. What started out as an $800 monthly compensation has now risen to almost $1,700/month, with cost of living increases, forever—even while in prison. The funny thing is when he committed these awful murders of women, he had to drag most of them hither and yon to dumpsters, cars etc. while nursing an injured shoulder. What is wrong with this picture????

Los Angeles is now down to a 5 day week schedule for its public libraries. The City of Santa Clarita has let go of its library public employees and has contracted its library services out to a private, for-profit corporation. The private, for-profit corporation will run the library as a profit center. They are doing this for a variety of reasons but mainly the City will no longer have to pay into the pension programs. Each new employee will now be under a 401K program as in customary in the corporate world.

We cannot exist with such discrepancies in the pension programs. The public pensions are paid by taxpayers and guaranteed, no matter what the economy is doing but the private pension programs are at the mercy of the stock market. You can expect huge ramifications across America as the systems come apart. The services will continue to be cut to compensate the pension programs until the public says it no longer can tolerate it. The Soul did not come here to retire. Many people will become more creative in creating income as they see their retirements cut or disappear—including a review and updating of current government retirees.

This same imbalance is taking place in the corporate world as corporations continue to turn their businesses into monopolies where the power to govern our industries is concentrated in very few hands. For example:

Menu Foods. Ever hear of them??? They create about 150 brand names of pet food. You could be buying an expensive pet food brand such as I Am or Hill’s Pet Nutrition Science Diet but on the same food line is Wal-Mart, Kroger’s and other private labels. During the pet food recall a few years ago, Menu Foods recalled covered products that had been retailed under a phenomenal 150 different names. “Cornered—the New Monopoly Capitalism and the Economics of Destruction”, by Barry Lynn.

Prior to Menu Food’s reach into the pet food markets, pet food manufacturers largely operated their own factories and packed their own cans and managed their supply bases to avoid concentration. This means that a “pet poison” problem could have been isolated swiftly and resolved.

This problem of concentration of brands by only one or two large companies will be examined and brought to light over the next 15 years. America is waking up to its issues. This concentration of brands in only a few companies is across almost all industries. It would shock you if you had the time to examine the problem.

The same problems exist in the religious world. The abuse of power, the control of money, the pastor-preneurs, mega-churches, TV evangelists and pedophile priests are all making headlines.

The same goes for the social contract whereby the needs of the public go wanting for lack of well paved streets, educational services, safe drinking water, safe food and sane public officials. The old saying concerning the condition of the roads of a city tell the tale of the condition of the government of a city holds much merit.

The financial system was not really corrected during this past meltdown that began in 2007. It will be back for another correction within 10 years. The government appears to be regulating it but it doesn’t know what to do or how to do it. Instead we will see reality checks starting in about 2015.

Now you can see why we need the next 14 years to correct and refine our very structure. The colonists of our founding did not rebel against government itself, it rebelled against loss of freedom and the ability to openly prosper. We need government but not dysfunctional government. We the people have become the founding Mothers and Fathers and will become involved in the modification of our original social contract. What an exciting time for us all. We are being given the opportunity to correct the mistakes we have permitted in the name of ourselves.

Cornered—the New Monopoly Capitalism and the Economics of Destruction” by Barry C. Lynn. Be prepared for an eye-opener and mind-opener when you read this information. The well-known author, Barbara Ehrenreich (“Nickel and Dimed” and “Bright-Sided—How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America”) writes “Brilliantly argued and meticulously reported, ‘Cornered’ has changed my view of what’s gone wrong with American capitalism”

“The End of Work—The Decline of the Global Labor Force and the Dawn of the Post-Market Era” by Jeremy Rifkin—written in 1995 but very relevant.

“Working with the Law” by Raymond Holliwell. Powerful book on manifesting through understanding the unseen laws that trump all man-made laws.
