The Fatal Decision to Retire!

For the past 20 years I have been writing and speaking about the foolish notion of retirement.  My old adage is that the Soul

doesn’t come here to retire.  It is a man-made construct and gives people the false sense that somehow they can stop working, planning, being productive and creating new careers.  The Soul doesn’t come to earth to retire.  It has a long blueprint even going out 120 years and some of the most productive years are from 60 onward.  Finally, there are some statistics to support this thinking.  Not only have we shortened our lives by planning on retirement, getting monies together so we can live on less, or have enough to last as long as we do–or not, heaven forbid; we begin to accept the deterioration of our health as if that should go along with our ideas about retirement.

Living to 150 years of Age–Prudential’s Ad Campaign

Yesterday, I was driving on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles and I saw the billboard from Prudential Insurance

Company.  The headline reads “The First to Live to 150 is alive today”.   I wrote about this person over a year ago.  Scientists proclaim that there is one or more humans alive today that will live to that age.  Prudential’s tag line with the ad says “Let’s Get Ready for a Longer Retirement”.

Yes, they want you to think that if you don’t plan early, your retirement income will run out prior to your death.  This is all based on the retirement age of 65.  Now really consider these numbers.  If you retire at 65 and live to age 150, you would have 85 years of retirement.  The whole thinking by Prudential and the American psyche is that you are to retire..  If anything, by living longer, you will …
