It’s theater and will keep you engaged and distracted. It is something to keep in mind that since 1980’s, we have had 15 government shutdowns. They hijack your attention and create an atmosphere that the sky is falling. Sooner or later the two parties compromise and it all comes to an end and we go back to the normal (the new normal). It makes for performance on all sides and the citizens wring their hands and act like this hasn’t happened before. It has and will continue to happen from time to time. The last shutdown was also during the Trump administration about seven years ago. We all survived.
As I have said in prior writings, we have 2025 and 2026 (until about August) where the people go through an extremely rough period and there is much suffering all the way around. We are working our way to a better future for America but we must manage the breakdowns and figure out what we want in our government and our institutions. There is always the invisible world running right alongside the visible. I compare it to train tracks. One being the invisible and the other the visible. Both have power and the problem is nobody is taking into consideration the invisible track and what it is powering up for. This is where we fit in the world of “unintended consequences”. We pretend that the invisible world of energy and directed thought is benign and irrelevant, that is a mistake. Never assume! This is powerful and it, too, builds over time. Things have a way of coming around and dropping shocking events. Always remember, words are powerful and travel into the void to create form. In the beginning was the word “and the word became flesh.” The Bible knew. We have been spewing out anger and vulgar words into the void and have created chaos and violence. We will grow weary of it but first we wear out ourselves paying attention to those who do it and our acceptance of it.
There are large pockets of our current society who do not like the state of the union. These are quiet but still uncomfortable with the disorder. I wouldn’t label them as a democrat or a republican but I would categorize them as the silent growing majority. Perhaps, they are the independents. This is a growing group of citizens who do not see themselves as tied to a party. This is the growing group that it would be wise to pay attention to– the independents. What do they want and what are they addressing?
As I have said before, 2025 is a number 2 year in Numerology for the United States. It is supposed to have been a year of compromise, patience, tact, diplomacy and persuasion. We have behaved just the opposite. As the year begins to wind down, we are getting worn out and exhausted by extreme rhetoric, lies, exaggerated hair extensions, camera ready political performers, violence, retribution and a missing Congress. Everything seems to be loud, litigious and exaggerated. To flip the old saying “more is less”. Life in the governing body seems to be one big overreach.
It did not have to be this way but we refused to work with our lesson of the number 2. Now we are stuck in the coarse world of boorish behavior, cruelty, vendettas, male role models acting like rebellious teenagers and the world of “victims”. Nobody gets anywhere by playing victim. It might work for awhile and then people resent it and drop out of your orbit. Countries play this game as well as individuals. It keeps wars going, i.e. Israel and Gaza, Russia and Ukraine. Each plays the victim. Those who back these countries are growing tired of it and beginning to drop out. Maybe it is called exhaustion.
Whatever the reasons, the latest shutdown of the government will end. How, I am not privy to but it will end and we will return to our new normal. Blame will be loud and the influence will probably be a talking point in the 2026 elections. At least we can look forward to a number 3 year in 2026. A number 3 year is more open and networking. I think the influence of separate silos will weaken as people become more loose. Much of the overreaching will be less effective. Effects of tariffs, inflation, sluggish job markets and high prices will begin to make citizens concerned. Much of the number 3 effect won’t be realized until about spring. The first few months of 2026 will be spent cleaning out consequences of 2025 and the punishing effects of not learning our lesson.
