Numbers and Your Body Parts
Several years ago I was at the doctor being treated for the same old case of bronchitis. It seemed to get better, go away and
within a few months would come back. I even went so far as to get pneumonia. One day my wise doctor said to me, “you know Gail, you might want to pretend you have a fine racing horse. You rode this horse uphill and down dale. You went far and fast because it was such a fine horse you just kept riding it. One day the horse had had enough and threw you, the rider, off”
On that happy metaphor, I stopped taking my body for granted. Believe it or not, I rarely ever get a cold, never get the flu and always wear a scarf when it isn’t summer. How much do you take your body for granted? Do you think it will just …
