We normally think of getting our own house in order when we expect guests or we might be in the transition period of a move. It can mean a physical house or a mental/emotional house. We work better and smarter when our house is in order. This can also be applied to the Big House (not prison) but the House of Representatives. As America continues to travel through a “death and transformation period” with Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Capricorn, she has to work on getting her own House in order. This is not what I call a fun time or a funny time. It is a serious time and a time for a reality check. You can expect this getting- your-house-in-order period to continue in earnest for the next two years. With the recent election we can see definitely a different direction and focus going forward. Hopefully, for the better.

Here in Southern California we are experiencing our umpteenth forest fire. One of the benefits of living in the city is the lack of forest around us so I am personally far away from the flames. We get the smoke and the ash and the eery sunsets and orange brown sky. However, many west of us have been evacuated and are, as of today, being allowed back in their homes or streets. There are still freeway off ramps closed out by the canyons and mountain passes. There are still hot spots and I heard this morning new fires starting in Simi Valley. We had a small one in Griffith Park here in the city but that was quickly extinguished.

One of my favorite singer and song writers is Leonard Cohen. His haunting songs linger in my head as they do many others. He has a particular song called “Bird On A Wire”. I really can see the bird just perched there before it suddenly takes off for other resting places.

No, I’m not 80 yet but if the good Lord is willing, I will be. It is definitely an age of reckoning. It’s the age the young think of as decrepit and the middle age try to push away as much as possible. The main thing to focus on as we age, is what have you learned over this time and what can you contribute to society from all that you have learned.
I have said in previous writings that our Soul assesses itself every 7th birthday and downloads all that it learned during the previous 7 years. It then moves to another state of awareness. This pattern is repeated every 7th birthday beginning at age 7 and will continue to influence you at each important 7 years thereafter. We can be 77 or 83 and go through another Soul cycle. These are very important birthdays.
This post is not, however, on the Soul cycles but they are mentioned so that you are aware that you never stop growing in awareness, you never retire from life here and you are lucky to be above ground. If anyone has been or has a loved one who has been in rehab, you know the danger that lurks in getting clean and sober. It is really a tough journey and one that has many relapses. If a fly on the wall were to comment on the behavior of the addicts, it might say that the addicts were all still addicted to their drug of choice, anger, fear, confusion, revenge, lies, righteousness, greed, corruption and, of course, ignorance.

Keep your eye on the prize. Keep your eye on the ball. Stay focused though the slings and arrows are flying. Women are on the march world wide and are an enormous force of change. What you have been watching in Washington during these last few weeks of drama is women speaking out about their own experience of being harassed, marginalized and dismissed. Women are waking up after thousands of years of being considered non-persons, weak and ill-prepared for decision-making positions. Women have been under a patriarchal form of government, religion and cultural mores for thousands of year. It is ending, changing and transforming.

The seeds sown back in 1776 are sprouting at last. It only took a couple of hundred years but here they are. We are back to that time of our country where we will expand upon our perspective of what is happening to America politically, culturally and socially. This important cycle of repeat began in 2008 when America was forced to revisit her past, experience chaos, revolutionary behavior and eventually find rebirth and transformation. We are in the midst of it now and will be dealing with troubling confrontations and competition as we have never experienced.

Sometimes we may not like where we are planted. We find the soil is too hard, the nutrients are lacking and besides, the location doesn’t get enough sun. What we usually do is complain that there is no opportunity here. We say that the weather is awful and the people are too provincial or maybe too liberal. We want to go to the city or maybe we want to go to the country. It doesn’t really matter. You are where you are and you must learn to manage yourself right in this spot. What a thought? Often clients come to me because they want to change locations. They have outgrown an area, a relationship, a job or even a house. All they know is they want change!

This is a very significant candidate for the Supreme Court. On the face of it, it would appear the perfect Republican choice. He was born in Washington, D.C. and really never made it any further than working in Washington, D.C. In that regard he is definitely living up to his number 4 destiny number of tradition and order. However, when you look more deeply into his chart, this is a candidate who, after more seasoning on the court, could become the swing voter that prior Justice Kennedy was. I know the Federalist Society chose him and Trump loves him but his birth chart shows that this man will go through much change going forward and will become more open to the suffering of the human condition.

We have just experienced the funeral of John McCain, patriot, warrior, peacemaker and worker of the light. It’s interesting how these light workers arrive in just random human forms. This worker helped the inner workings of a government whose imprint of change on the world vibrates over the earth. We tend to think that “light workers” or those with higher assignments here on earth should be consciously awake and aware. Many of them are but many are still a work in progress.
